Interior Ministry wants to see account balances of individuals and companies

The Interior Ministry plans to create a central registry with bank account information about individuals and companies. Most EU countries have such registries to fight money laundering and terrorism. Slovakia will most likely use the current system run by SBA, the local banking association, which is used by bailiffs. While the EU directive does not require such registries to hold information about account balances, the Interior Ministry wants to have such information at its d

Ministerstvo vnútra chce vidieť stav na účte ľudí i firiem

Ministerstvo vnútra (MV) chce vytvoriť centrálny register bankových účtov ľudí i firiem. Tie už má väčšina krajín EÚ kvôli boju s praním špinavých peňazí a terorizmom.

(trend.sk)

Economy needs €1.8bn fiscal stimulus

The Slovak economy needs a €1.8bn fiscal stimulus, says Ján Tóth, head of the fiscal responsibility council RRZ. He says the Slovak economy is 2.5% below its potential and the state pandemic assistance to companies has only amounted to 3% of GDP to date (it was double that in the EU). The stimulus should be targeted at the service sector. Economy Minister Richard Sulík has already prepared a large compensation package helping firms hit by the pandemic, but OĽaNO has been refu

PW Energy plans to invest €108-120m into two geothermal power plants

PW Energy (Milan Jankura and Ivo Šafranko) plans to invest €108-120m into two geothermal power plants with a combined output of 13 MW in Žiar nad Hronom. During the first Smer government, Jankura served as head of NAMSP, the SME agency. There are no geothermal power plants in Slovakia, as underground water is not hot enough. PW Energy aims to bypass this by using a liquid with a lower boiling point. They will apply for EU funds for the project. (teraz.sk)

PW Energy plánuje pri Žiari nad Hronom investovať 108-120 mil. € do geotermálnych elektrární

Spoločnosť PW Energy (Milan Jankura a Ivo Šafranko) plánuje pri Žiari nad Hronom investovať 108-120 mil. € do dvoch geotermálnych elektrární so spoločným výkonom 13 MW.

Minister hospodárstva Richard Sulík už pripravil veľký odškodňovací zákon, ktorým by štát plošne pomohol firmám postihnutým pandémiou, ale OĽaNO ho doteraz odmiet

Eduard Heger will be the new Prime Minister and Igor Matovič will replace him as Finance Minister

The OĽaNO, Sme rodina, SaS and Za ľudí parties ended the coalition crisis on Sunday and agreed to OĽaNO’s proposal that Eduard Heger will be the new Prime Minister and Igor Matovič will replace him as Finance Minister. The SaS and Za ľudí cabinet members that resigned recently will return to their posts and OĽaNO will demand no other changes. OĽaNO will nominate a new Health Minister. All parties believe that the coalition will be stable and will see out the entire term witho
