Korean automotive supplier Wia, part of the Hyundai Group, is seeking permits for a €13.1m investment to relocate production of driveshafts and cooling modules for Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia, and Volvo to a plant in Martin acquired from Danish footwear company Ecco. Production will be moved from its existing facility in Dolný Hričov, where it employs 50 people, with the new site expected to create 150 jobs. A technology center for component development will also be built in Martin. Installation of equipment is planned to begin in August this year.
