Telecoms regulator launched mobile frequency auction

The telecoms regulator ÚREKPS launched an auction for five mobile frequency bands. Operators will compete for 20-year licenses, including frequencies they already use. The auction is crucial for the small operator 4ka, which no longer wants to rely on national roaming. If it fails, it may exit the market. The starting price for all bands is €363m. For 2023, the four mobile operators reported EBITDA of €699m.
