The state will build a new university hospital with 950 beds in Vajnory, Health Minister Kamil Šaško announced. The facility will occupy the site of former military barracks, which will also house the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University. The Defense Ministry, already building a hospital in Prešov, will oversee this project, enabling its costs to be included in defense spending. The new hospital will follow the same design as the one in Prešov, accelerating construction. The project is estimated to cost €1.2bn, with completion targeted for 2030. Funding will come from the state budget, with the Recovery Facility expected to contribute €200m. Declaring the project a strategic investment will expedite construction by allowing it to bypass public procurement rules, though this raises the potential for corruption substantially.

Upon completion of the new facility, existing hospitals in Ružinov and Petržalka will remain in operation. Bratislava will continue to be served by the Penta hospital in Bory, the Interior Ministry hospital in the city center, and the nearby Milosrdní Bratia hospital run by the church. Changes are planned for the hospitals in Kramáre and on Mickiewiczova street.
