Slovakia no longer attractive to foreign investors
Slovakia is one of the least successful countries in the CEE region in attracting foreign direct investment. It lags even behind the Balkans, UniCredit Bank points out. Net FDI inflows here in 2014-23 were just 1% of GDP per year, compared with a regional average of 2.5%. Labor shortages and high taxes further reduce Slovakia's attractiveness.
