Slovakia has plenty of crude oil

Transit of Lukoil crude oil through Ukraine to Slovakia and Hungary was not stopped by Ukraine, but by Russia, Bloomberg sources say. Crude from Central Asian countries and other Russian suppliers such as Russneft, Tatneft and Gazprom Neft still flows through the pipeline and overall flows in the pipeline have not decreased, Ukraine reported. Thus, supplies to Slovakia remain uninterrupted. The EU also says the capacity of the pipeline through Croatia is sufficient to cover our needs. Nevertheless, the Hungarian and Slovak governments continue to talk about threats to energy security. They are lobbying on behalf of Mol, which apparently finds it more expensive to import oil via Croatia. Also, Russian oil itself is cheaper than oil from other countries. Hungary and Slovakia warn they might restrict or stop electricity supplies to Ukraine. However, these are carried out by private companies, such as Slovenské elektrárne.
