STVR Loses €2m as Tipos Cuts Ads Amid Coalition Tensions

The STVR Council criticized state lottery operator Tipos for cutting back advertising on the public broadcaster. It sees political motives behind the move, since Tipos falls under Sports Minister Rudolf Huliak while STVR falls under Culture Minister Martina Šimkovičová. Huliak said Tipos should not be supporting STVR, which has lower viewership than commercial media. As a result, STVR will lose its entire planned €2m in revenue from Tipos this year.
