Slovakia exports 20% of its electricity output
Slovakia exported 1.1 TWh of electricity in January-February, almost a fifth of its output. Exports thus grew 5-fold year-on-year, SEPS data show. Although coal-fired power plants in Nováky and Vojany were closed recently, a 470 MW unit of the Mochovce nuclear power plant was launched last year and photovoltaic plants are being added. At the same time, the Slovalco aluminum smelter is yet to restart production.
