Slovak food prices are not expected to fall
Slovak farmers increased their final prices more than the EU average last year (46% vs. 30%), but their costs increased even more (51% vs. 35%). As a result, Slovak food prices are not expected to fall anytime soon, despite falling global food commodity prices, says SPPK, the local food chamber. It blames the rising costs of energy and fertilizers. Food is the main driver of Slovak inflation (15.4% in November 2022).
