While Slovak households pay some of the lowest electricity prices in the EU, prices for businesses are among the highest, according to Eurostat data. In 2H24, companies with annual consumption over 150 GWh paid €183/MWh, compared to the EU average of €140. Only businesses in Hungary, Poland, and Denmark paid more, while prices in Germany were similar. The lowest prices were in Norway, Sweden, and France. For companies consuming 70-150 GWh annually, Slovakia is the 8th most expensive country in the EU and for those using 20-70 GWh, it ranks 6th. In the US, Canada, and Turkey, prices were €74.3, €92.4, and €76.4, respectively.
