The four Slovak car plants are running at 76% capacity this year, the 2nd-highest after Czechia (84%), GlobalData data show. In 2019, the Slovak figure was 83%. Plant utilization in Western Europe is much lower; in France it has dropped from 74% to 50% and in Italy from 55% to 38%. Slovak and Czech plants benefit from lower labor costs and the fact that they are more modern and efficient than those in the West.
