SkyToll wins new toll system tenders

NDS, the highway firm, named CzechToll as the winner of two tenders for the new toll system, in which no reputable companies bid due to dubious conditions. This sister company of SkyToll (both owned by the Czech PPF group) is thus close to replacing it in the Slovak toll system. CzechToll wants to supply the new toll IT system for €13.7m and wants €28.7m for toll services (mainly on-board units). If no one appeals, the new system could be operational by the end of 2024. The cost to the state will thus drop from the previous 50% of the toll revenue to 15% at first and then to 10%.

NDS also wants to launch the European toll system EETS from January 2024. There, the cost to the state is only 4.5%.

The state also wants to buy a part of SkyToll, with 190 employees, and integrate it into the new toll system.
