Robert Fico wants a new nuclear power plant worth tens of billions

PM Robert Fico wants his government to decide on the construction of a new nuclear unit worth tens of billions with an installed capacity of over 1,000 MW, most likely in Jaslovské Bohunice. He is not in favor of smaller modular reactors, work on which was started by the previous government. He could not specify the source of funding. Slovakia needs new sources of electricity for battery producers and the electrification of industry, he said.
