Prices in Slovakia are high

Slovakia’s price level for household final consumption expenditure was at 89% of the EU average last year, despite its GDP per capita being just 73% of the EU average, Eurostat data show. Slovak food prices, adjusted for purchasing power parity, were even at 107% of the EU average. Overall price level (O) and food price level (F) as a share of EU average in 2023:
