Podtatranská took over the business of indebted Podtatranská hydina

Poultry processor Podtatranská (Ján Kyseľ) reported revenues of €54.6m last year, up from just €2,600 in 2022. Media reports said it took over the business of indebted Podtatranská hydina (Pavol Konkoľ), which in its heyday generated annual revenues of €80m. Konkoľ was convicted of bribing a veterinarian and is investigated for tax fraud and bribing tax officials. The charges involved the companies Podtatranská hydina, Hydina Slovensko and Hydina SK, from which the state is recovering €26.6m in tax arrears. Konkoľ admitted to the bribes.
