Pixel Federation faces lower sales and profits

Slovakia’s largest game studio, Pixel Federation (Šimon Šicko), posted a 69% drop in net profit to €1m and an 11% drop in sales to €42.4m last year. During the pandemic years of 2020-21, it posted a net profit of €16.6m, but then interest in games waned. It responded with management changes, with Daniel Duranka becoming the new CEO. Šicko plans to return to game development after 17 years in management roles. The studio has closed its branch in Brno. At the end of 2021 it had 300 employees; today it has 250.
