Investment group Penta (Jaroslav Haščák and Marek Dospiva) plans to invest €6.4bn over the next five years. Its Dr. Max pharmacy chain wants to become No.1 in Europe, it wants to buy hospitals in Romania, develop real estate projects in London and sell the Fortuna betting agency. In the long term, it wants to be active in retail, healthcare, real estate, banking and media. In the medium term, it wants to grow the portfolio by 15% p.a. It needs new sources of capital and is opening a fund for outside investors at the end of this year. It expects inflows of the lower hundreds of millions of euros a year, mainly from Czechia, Slovakia and Poland.
