Penta abandoned plans to sell Fortuna
Penta has abandoned plans to sell its Fortuna betting agency when none of the bids met its expectations. It will continue to develop the agency on its own. Bids have reportedly been submitted by US-based MGM Resorts, France's FDJ and Czech Sazka (Karel Komárek). Penta was expecting a price of €2bn. Fortuna, together with the Dr.Max pharmacy chain, is one of the group's most valuable assets. Last year its pre-tax profit was €160m and this year it is expected to top €200m.
