Of large banks, SLSP pays the highest average wage

The central bank NBS pays the highest average wage in the banking sector, of €2,814 last year (total labor costs, including bonuses, split into 12 months), calculated Finsider. Among banks with branch networks, SLSP paid the highest average wage in 2020 (€2,503), followed by Tatra banka (€2,124), (€2,107) and VÚB (€2,017). Last year’s wages at SLSP might be influenced by layoffs, as the bank terminated and paid severance pay to 300 people; other banks downsized less. Last year, SLSP paid €2.5m to its BoD and SuB members, VÚB €3.3m and Tatra banka €148,000-287,000 to each BoD member. NBS governor Peter Kažimír made €175,651 net last year.
