O2 to launch a pilot operation of 5G network

Mobile phone operator O2 will very soon launch a pilot operation of its 5G network for regular clients in four Bratislava districts (Petržalka, Ružinov, Dúbravka and Karlova Ves). It is using frequencies it already has and is not waiting for the auction of state frequencies. It is using the pilot to test technologies of all four potential 5G suppliers (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei and ZTE). It expects full commercial operation of the 5G network no sooner than in two years.

4ka launched its pilot 5G network last year, but it only covers a tiny area in Banská Bystrica.
