The central bank NBS fined Prima banka, owned by Penta, €500,000 for advertising savings accounts, which it deemed an unfair commercial practice. The bank advertised only the interest rate, without specifying the conditions for obtaining it. The NBS banned the ad in 2023, but the bank continued using it nonetheless. The fine was imposed in 2024, the bank appealed, and now the NBS has upheld the fine. The bank intends to appeal in courts.
