Renegotiated mortgages totaled €9bn in January–July. Of this, only 13% were refinanced mortgages, where clients switched banks for lower rates. Most clients stayed with their original bank. The combined volume of new and renegotiated mortgages reached €13bn, €1.5bn less than in the first seven months of the record year 2022. The average mortgage amount rose from €91,000 in 2021 to €105,500 due to rising real estate prices.
