Low demand for home renovation subsidies
The state agency SAŽP planned to provide 4,000 subsidies for the reconstruction of family houses last year, but so far it has received only 2,200 applications and has not yet evaluated them. Fully €500m from the Recovery Facility has been allocated for the subsidies, and one applicant can receive €19,000. Applicants are discouraged by the need to spend the money first and then get their expenses reimbursed. There is a shortage of experts reviewing energy savings. The agency is working to address the shortcomings.
