Slovakia attracted only €7m in venture capital last year (0.005% of GDP), the lowest in Europe, Invest Europe data show. The CEE regional average reached 0.09% of GDP and the EU average was 0.6%; neighboring Czechia raised €275m. Over the past five years, an annual average of €190m flowed into 26 Slovak companies. CEE-focused funds raised 21% more capital last year than their five-year average.
