Labor costs per employee, at unchanged wages, have risen by 14% over the past six years, according to think-tank Iness. This reflects higher payroll levies and new mandatory payments such as sports vouchers. The cost per hour worked by a model industrial employee with a pre-tax wage of €1,765 rose 2.4% between 2024 and 2025. The total labor cost for such an employee is now €3,751 per month.
