Hungarian airline Wizz Air won the tender for subsidized flights between Bratislava and Košice, announced Transport Minister Jozef Ráž. The state subsidy will be €5.2m annually, down from the original estimate of €9m. Daily flights should start in November. One-way tickets will cost €20–75, with return fares starting at €40. (openiazoch.sk) The opposition PS party condemned the government's decision to subsidize air transport, saying it would rather allocate the funds to improve rail services.
