Hella is moving production and research to Slovakia
Hella, a troubled German lights maker, is going through a reshuffle and will move the production of ambient lights from Bratislava to Trenčín next year. The unit employs 300. It will also move its global center designing rear lights from Lippstadt, Germany, to its plant in Bánovce, creating 100 new jobs there. It will move the production of components for cars that are no longer produced from Spain to Slovakia. In total, it employs almost 4,000 in Slovakia, having recently axed 200 jobs here. It will merge its Slovak plants in Bratislava, Kočovce, Bánovce and Trenčín into a single company.
