The government is preparing four packages of measures to stimulate economic growth, Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenický said. The first focuses on deregulation. The government also aims to streamline spending and eliminate state agencies. The final area involves changes to taxes and payroll levies, including a possible increase in the basic income tax deduction for individuals. Details will be presented later.

The government will maintain 100% bonuses for work on the abolished May 8 and September 15 public holidays, Kamenický indicated. This will cost the state €10m and companies significantly more. “When people have more money, they will consume more, and the economy will fare all the better,” he said.
