The government approved the 2022-24 public finance budget. The 2022 deficit is planned at 4.9% of GDP (down from 7-8% expected for this year) but its final volume depends on adopting spending limits, changes in the debt brake, and pension reform. Finance Minister Igor Matovič (OĽaNO) says the coalition won’t approve the parental pension bonus. The healthcare sector will get €411m more under an annual comparison, and education €459m more. On the other hand, the Interior Ministry will see its capital outlay budget cut substantially.
