Government approved €19.6m investment incentive for BDR Thermea
The government approved a €19.6m investment incentive for Dutch company BDR Thermea, which is building a €63m plant for the production of heat pumps and tanks in Vranov nad Topľou. The plant will create 750 jobs by the end of 2028. The government will provide tax breaks of €6.3m and a €13.4m subsidy for the purchase of technology.
Some €500m investment in the heat pump segment is expected to create 4,000 jobs. Vaillant is building two plants in Senica (€120m) and Palárikovo (€130m). Hoval is expanding its plant in Istebné (€40m) and Winkelmann is building a plant in Rimavská Sobota (€110m). Demand for heat pumps in Europe tanked, though, following the fall in energy prices.
