The financial wealth of Slovaks rose by 9% last year to an average of €21,000 per capita, according to central bank NBS data. The growth outpaced inflation, reversing two years of declines in real wealth values amid high inflation. Last year’s gains were driven by strong performance in global stock and bond markets. However, after U.S. tariffs were announced, markets fell sharply, with the S&P 500 still 11% below its February peak.
