Evonik Fermas opened €100m plant in Slovenská Ľupča to produce biosurfactants
Germany's Evonik Fermas opened a new €100m plant in Slovenská Ľupča to produce biosurfactants that can replace petroleum products in cleaning products. This is the first large-scale biosurfactants facility in the world. The plant will employ 100 people. Its main customer is Unilever, one of the global leaders in the production of household and personal care cleaning products. The plant reported €43.2m sales in 2022.
