Elektrovod expands in response to growing demand

Elektrovod (František Studénka), a manufacturer of high-voltage line and telecom tower poles, is investing €5.5m in a new zinc-coating technology in Prievidza. Demand is rising in Slovakia as well as in Central and Western Europe due to the need to build new power grids triggered by renewables and the energy crisis. The company has its main plant in Žilina and galvanizing plants in Prievidza and Humenné. During the pandemic, it increased sales by a tenth to €41m and reported a net profit of €9m in 2018-21.
