Dr. Oetker and Orkla are closing small Slovak plants

German food firm Dr. Oetker will close its production plant in Boleráz near Trnava in the summer. The plant makes powdered puddings and desserts. 75 employees will lose their jobs, as the plant does not provide opportunities to expand capacity and improve productivity. Dr. Oetker reported a net profit of €4.5m on €28.9m sales in Slovakia in 2021.

Norwegian food company Orkla (Vitana and Hamé brands) recently announced that it is considering closing a small plant in Prešov.
