City of Poprad to demolish three factories in local industrial park

The city of Poprad threatened to demolish three factories in the local industrial park. In 2006, it promised to sell the land under the factories after 17 years for a symbolic one cent, but in 2023 it declared that such a transaction would constitute illegal state aid and began demanding the market price of €42 per sqm. The companies, including LPH, refused, and the city is now demanding demolition of the plants, which stand on its land without a valid lease agreement.
