Billa keeps posting low profits

Retailer Billa reported a 3% growth in net profit to €10.1m last year and its sales rose 9% to €775.2m. Its profits were thus not behind the sharp rise in food prices. Its labor costs were up 8% as headcount remained flat at 4,100. Last year it opened a new €39.5m logistics center in Sereď. It is still expanding its cooperation with the OMV gas station chain.
