Biggest family business in Slovakia is GGT

The biggest family business in Slovakia is GGT (Ivan Kmotrík), shows ranking by the Slovak Spectator weekly based on FinStat data. Most of its €800m revenues come from the wholesale of cigarettes (Tabak Press brand). Med-Art (Ján Holec and Hilda Némethová), a Nitra-based drug wholesaler, came second with revenues of €522m. In third is Košice-based retailer Labaš (Miroslav Labaš) with revenues of €406m. Most family businesses are involved in wholesale and retail (51% by revenues), and industry (14%) and food processing (12%) follow.
