Auction for subsidized renewable sources of electricity to be held by the end of this year

The Economy Ministry intends to hold an auction for subsidized renewable sources of electricity by the end of this year, according to Deputy Minister Karol Galek. Investors should compete for an installed capacity of 50 MW. In April, the Ministry canceled the original 30 MW auction due to the pandemic. At that time, it aimed to provide 15-year subsidies to sources with an output of 0.5-10 MW (other than photovoltaic power plants) and 0.1-2 MW (PV power plants). The sources that demand the lowest subsidy will be supported. The Ministry is also considering subsidies for hydropower plants and even supplies from old PV power plants after the end of their current subsidy entitlement.
