Only 14,300 apartments were completed in Slovakia last year, the lowest number since 2004, ŠÚ reported. This represents a 19% annual decline and a 25% drop compared with the 2015–24 average. Bratislava recorded the steepest decline at 46%. Construction starts fell 1% annually to 15,100, a 26% drop from the ten‑year average. The shortage of new housing is one factor driving residential property prices higher.
