Tofu company Alfa Bio (Lunter family; Lunter brand) acquired two production plants in Romania and Germany in addition to its plant in Banská Bystrica. The plants were bought by the Vienna-based New Originals Co., which was founded in February 2024 by the Lunter family, NLT Management and Raiffeisen Landesbank Oberösterreich. In July this year, it acquired Romanian manufacturer Inedit from Dr. Oetker and, more recently, German firm Tofutown from Vegan Food Group. Alfa Bio doubled its net profit to €0.7m last year and sales rose 27% to €35.4m.
