Aging population, rather than rising demand for workers, drives record-low unemployment, UniCredit Bank said. Slovakia is among three EU countries where employment declined since the pandemic. Still, the unemployment rate stood 0.3 points below pre-pandemic levels. The reason is that Slovakia ranked among the top three EU countries in terms of the drop in the economically active population (-1.9%).
