Government is working on reforms to show to the EU

The government has set up eight teams working on reforms Slovakia must present to the EU by October 15 to get €6.8bn from the new EU Economic Recovery Fund. The teams are mostly led by Finance Ministry Financial Policy Institute analysts and they include people from individua ministries. Finance Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) is the reform leader and Peter Škodný is helping with the reform process. The teams are preparing reforms of taxes and pensions, the green economy, labor market, education, science, research and innovation, health, public administration (judicial and business environment reforms), and eGovernment. EU leaders have still not agreed on whether the EU will reimburse individual spending on reforms or send money directly to national governments in exchange for reform drafts.
