The Senica-based steel and aluminum company ArcelorMittal Gonvarri SSC improved its sales 7% last year to €269m. At the end of this year, it will complete a €27m investment into a new plant in Nitra called Gonvauto that will supply aluminum components for the local car plant of Jaguar Land Rover. This is a joint venture of ArcelorMittal and Gonvarri, part of the Gestamp group that opened its own plant in Nitra earlier this year. The new plant also supplies the JLR car plant. The Senica plant is investing €15m this year into a new technology for hot processing of metal sheets. It sells 70% of its output to the automotive sector and its key clients are Mercedes, BMW and PSA.
