Uncertainity about future rail investments in Bratislava
The long-awaited study on the Bratislava Rail Hub failed to produce clear-cut recommendations for the future direction of rail travel in the city for Železnice SR, the state-run infrastructure operator. The company stopped investing in Bratislava in 2013 to wait for the study by Reming Consult. The study recommends building a new €948m rail station, Filiálka, in Trnavské Mýto square. The Finance Ministry’s analysts beg to differ, recommending a €711m renovation of the current main station. It seems it will be up to the new government to decide.
