George Trabelssie has a rather long investment horizon
Local businessman George Trabelssie, the new owner of Tesco shopping center in Bratislava’s center, has a rather long investment horizon and several frozen projects in the centers of other cities. At the end of 2013 he announced plans for a new €107m shopping center and bus station in Trenčín. The city sold him land near the bus station, but the project saw no progress since then. In 2016, he bought Tesco in Žilina’s center, but has not started any renovation. The Tesco in Nitra’s center that he acquired in 2017 has been vacant since. The sports hall in Žilina that he acquired before 2010 is crumbling. It comes as no surprise that he plans no changes for the Bratislava Tesco in the coming 3-5 years. He keeps denying he manages the money of Ján Slota, ex-SNS leader.
