Slovak judges are issuing ever faster and higher-quality verdicts

Slovak judges are issuing ever faster and higher-quality verdicts, according to a regular analysis by Transparency International (TIS). It measures the quality of district court judges by the share of their verdicts confirmed on appeal. Almost 70% of district court verdicts are confirmed on appeal, seven points more compared to 2013. The average length of court cases fell, too. TIS also publishes rankings of individual judges. Miriam Repáková came up as the very worst in the business area; her best-known verdict is in favor of Marian Kočner in the Technopol case. In 2017 she ended up second-last.
