Slovakia 5th-poorest country in EU

The International Monetary Fund predicts that in 2029 Slovakia will be the 5th-poorest country in the EU. In terms of GDP per capita in purchasing power parity, Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia and Estonia will be worse off, while Romania, for example, will overtake us. A number of Central and Eastern European countries will outperform some Western European ones, e.g. Slovenia will be richer than Italy, while Lithuania and Poland will lag only slightly behind. Poland has made the most progress over the last 20 years.
