BMW and ZhiDou shortlisted Slovakia
Two car makers are considering Slovakia for their new plants, said PM Peter Pellegrini (Smer). The first is BMW and the other a maker of electric vehicles ZhiDou, part of Geely, the largest Chinese car maker. Their final decisions are expected in several months. Pellegrini does not perceive Slovakia’s focus on the automotive sector as a problem, but rather emphasizes advantages stemming from greater specialization. The automotive sector is moving ever more product development activities to Slovakia.
