SaS party is incompetent
The labor shortage in the automotive sector is the result of the Robert Fico government giving massive subsidies to foreign investors, causing their concentration in a relatively small area, claims SaS, the largest opposition party. It criticizes the government for planning to ease restrictions on employing non-EU foreigners. It wants only a limited “sensible inflow” of workers from other EU countries. It also condemns the government’s plans to increase pay for night, weekend, and holiday work. The party contradicts economists’ consensus view that an inflow of workers will increase the country’s overall economic pie. The government has little influence over where investors place their plants. High geographical concentration of the automotive industry improves its efficiency.
