Wealthier Slovaks are happier

Wealthier Slovaks are happier and the ownership of material goods, especially real estate, increases happiness the most, an NBS study found. Richer neighbors may destroy happiness, though. Having a below-average house in a neighborhood significantly reduces subjective happiness, while better quality housing compared to one’s neighbors does not bring more happiness, the study showed.
